ABSTRACT: This study examines the role of early childhood education in teaching resource management to young children. Understanding resource management is crucial for sustainable living. Objectives were to evaluate children's knowledge of resource management, identify effective educational practices, and assess the long-term impacts of early resource management education. A survey design was utilized for its ability to gather comprehensive data. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Anambra State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children exposed to resource management education demonstrated improved skills in managing and conserving resources. Activities such as recycling projects, lessons on energy conservation, and interactive discussions on sustainable practices were particularly effective. It was recommended that early childhood education curricula integrate resource management education to foster sustainable behaviors from an early age.
